seen very much as a demanding money with menaces free for all on the
doorstep for the local thugs.

Really!!!!!!! Brian says in UK, Halloween does not seem fun to him!
Bummer!! Guess one difference in USA is the odds & percentages
are just different, if many "local thugs" showed up on doorsteps
demanding money - some would be VERY SURPRISED!!!
It is my opinion in USA, that youth love Halloween, most
under 30 like it, and most 'mature' are fine with it.
In child rich suburbs, on Halloween night you can watch
a parade of neighboor kids come (wanting candy).
One can skip that if one wants by no decorations and
no exterior lights.
And that night, or the couple before or one after is a
quite recognized time for adults to also wear costumes
and a real good time for a PARTY!!

However, my repost/response, I'll claim is nothing of the sort!!!
1. It is now less than 3 months to Halloween.
How many times have you had a "Fun & sexy Halloween" ? *
Fun & sexy Halloweens require thought & planning!!
Soooo, you need a reminder to start planning.
2. Besides, thinking about a Fun & sexy Halloween
should be FUN. While frankly, with guilt and obligations
etc. how many of us at adult ages really have fun in
thinking about Christmas?
(Sad commentary ehh?)
*A good one of ours - at Fraternal Order,
a425couple's wife went as "The spanking Fairy".
Costume based on a black push up corset etc etc.
*Another was her being evil - wearing a red corset,
(Hmm sounds like a trend here!!) while husband
was dressed as a priest.
One drunk man even gave me a confession of what he'd
been doing in the parking lot!

Interesting outfits, I guess thanks for posting a little bit.
Probably dandy to get people to start to think in adequate time about
Halloween plans for fun and games.
For crossdressing ones, the Liah and the Lolita Maid ones seem more
interesting to me, but I understand, YMMV. The cowlady one ("Buckaroo
Babe") might be good on a "hangwoman".
So, the "Liah" outfit,,,, I'm ignorant, so researched, then looked at
images,,,, hmm interesting caption!!!!
"One more excuse from you and I am going to bury you alive, next to my
house so I can hear you screaming." Uhh ha!
Sheesh, talk about modern sensativities!!!! -and avoidance of weapons,
what they have had to do for the female Robin Hood's bow and arrow!!!!
